The Right Direction
Pretty much all week I’ve had only one contact in, so life is like watching a 3D movie w/o the special glasses.
Last night was a good improv show. Love those guys. Incredibly satisfying conversations with Joey, Craig, and Andrew, lately. Stoked for the sketch show, as well. Very proud of the high quality coming out of that place.
Steve and I hung out tonight, for the first time in ever. Great talk with him and Rachel about the difficulty of jumping into the dark to follow a prompting. The exhilaration is there, but doesn’t really cover the pain and intimidation of leaving things behind. Oi. Future looks good, though. Glad to have such friends.
Steve and I hit up the Punk-O-Rama show at Muse. Good energy, but a bit yelly for our taste, so we didn’t stay for the whole thing. Glad to see bands do what they do, though. Ran into Scott Shepard and Adam Hochhalter and finally met them properly. Seem like rad guys and enjoy British TV references. Then we parked and yapped about comedy nerdery (podcasts, Sundance, etc.) for forever. It was really motivating, and, with the opening of this new Echo theatre on University Avenue, the possibility of organizing a truly expressive, honest stand-up institution around here.
Write write write, play play play. Make it happen.
